What was the highlight of Coconut Tree Village Beach Resort
Resort description is FALSE! Many guests refused to stay (thus being unable to post comments)
The only two decent things: the AC did the job & large rooms. BEWARE! Resort's self-description is fake (including heavily enhanced photos)!
Reconfirmation of arrival required and still it took them 9 (NINE!) hours to check us in (tried 4 different rooms: one without front door key, one with a broken window, one without lights and also no toilet seat, the last had no sea view and no TV signal but we were already too tired). So, we ended up in a room with a "garden view" but paid for the room with "sea view" which was more expensive. No refund, obviously. No chairs in the room. Old and worn out furniture. Hard mattresses wrapped in plastic foil (introducing a strange 'sleeping on the table' feeling). No hem bed sheets. Toilet and faucets coated with limescale. Two towels for three persons in a week, we left the first one on the floor and it remained there for the entire period. One of the towels had cigarette burns and stains. No cleaning service, if you don't leave the key at the reception desk (staff losing room keys - including spare ones - is very much on the map here). Poor breakfast ("sorry, only eggs today" phrase heard 5 times out of 7), very poor and wildly expensive a la carte service. No chairs in the gazebo by the sea (in fact it was used as a broken furniture depot). No mattresses on the sun beds. Not nearly enough sun beds. No working umbrella by the pool or anywhere else. No music, except for a radio in local language (swahili) that eventually had some entertainment programs from time to time. One day they removed without notice the AC remote control from our room and gave it to other guests; AC remote control replaced by request after an hour and several attempts to find another suitable AC remote control to match. Slack staff (if you have a problem, then the problem is definitely yours). We asked the hotel manager every single day to have the TV signal fixed in our room; every time he promised to take care of it (he even wrote it down in his notebook twice actually!) and every time he failed to act (or maybe just forgot, hakuna matata!).

Very Good
The rooms were clean and big, stuff was awesome, and Lillian was very wonderful she would go out of her way to take us around to places and to help with communication barriers. Pleasant stay all in all.
The location was too far from most activities, and the beach is not good at all too mud and full of sharp stones. Other than that it's an awesome place to stay.
